Curami Privacy Policy
Curami is a pet-care planner made by Nikita Gankin ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. Short version: everything stays on your device unless you sign in to sync or share, and we never sell your data, show ads or track you.
Using Curami without an account
Everything you enter — pets, tasks, doses, measurements, notes, photos and files — is stored only on your device. Reminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone or iPad. We receive nothing. The camera and photo library are opened only when you choose to add a photo, and only the photos you pick are copied into the app.
Using Curami with an account
An account is optional. It is only needed to sync between devices, to share pets with family members and to read vet documents with AI. When you sign in, we store:
- From Google or Apple sign-in: your name, email address and account identifier. With Apple, the email may be a private relay address, and we also keep a token, stored encrypted, that lets us revoke Curami's access at Apple when you delete your account. We use these to identify your account and show who is in your family. We do not get access to anything else in your Google or Apple account.
- Your Curami data: pets, tasks, completion marks, measurements, notes, pet photos and note attachments, so they can sync to your other devices and to family members you invite.
- Session information: a random identifier created by the app for each device, the user-agent string your device sends (app and system version), and when the session was created and last used. We use these to keep you signed in and to let you sign out.
- Push token: your device's notification token. When family data changes, the server uses it to tell your other devices and your family's devices to fetch the update, and to tell you when a document has been read. The notifications go through Apple Push Notification service.
Your data is stored by Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts our server and file storage. Cloudflare processes standard request information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service, and keeps these logs for a few days. Sign-in is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy or by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Reading vet documents with AI
This happens only when you upload a document and agree to it in the app. The pages are uploaded to our storage and read by Anthropic's AI (Claude), which fetches them through a temporary link valid for 10 minutes at most. To match the document to the right pet, your pets' names and species are sent along with the pages. The request goes through Cloudflare's AI Gateway, which records usage (such as the number of tokens and the cost) but not the document or the answer. We delete the pages right after reading and the result within 48 hours at most; Anthropic deletes the request within 30 days. Documents are never used to train models. You can withdraw consent in Settings.
Subscription and purchases
Curami AI is an optional subscription bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment: we never see your card, billing address or Apple ID. To give you and your family access, we store:
- Purchase records from Apple: the transaction identifier, which plan you bought, its status (active, in a billing grace period, expired or refunded), when it renews or ends, and whether it was a test purchase. Apple also notifies our server when a subscription renews, lapses or is refunded; of each notice we keep only its identifier, so it is never applied twice.
- Usage counts: how many documents were read and what the AI cost in each billing period of a subscription, so the monthly limit can be applied. Free analyses are counted against a one-way code computed from your sign-in account — not your name or email — so the three free analyses can't be claimed again with a new account. This code is kept after you delete your account.
Members of a family you own are covered by your subscription. They see that they are covered and by whom, but not your purchase details.
Sharing with your family
When you invite someone to your family, they see and can edit the pets and tasks in that family, and see your name. Nobody else can see your data.
What we don't do
- No advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers named above, who process it only to run Curami.
Deleting your data
- On your device: delete pets, tasks or notes in the app, or delete the app.
- Your account: Settings → Delete account. This signs you out everywhere and removes your sign-in and your family memberships immediately. Pets you shared stay with the family's remaining members. Your name and email, and the data of any family that has no members left, are erased from our servers within 30 days.
- Subscription: deleting your account does not cancel it — cancel it in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. The purchase record is detached from your account and kept without your name or email, because Apple keeps renewing the subscription until you cancel it, and you can restore it to a new account.
- You can also email us to delete your data or to get a copy of it.
Children
Curami is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
